What is the average pay for teaching English in Vietnam?

I was thinking about teaching in Vietnam within the next year or two and was wondering what the average pay would be as an English teacher. It would be helpful to translate it into dollars to see how it would spend in the U.S.. Also, what the value of the pay would be in Vietnam. Maybe comparing the pay to the pricing of housing, food, other goods in Vietnam. Thanks a bunch!
